More seating, more parking and more thrills – everything about the April 4th O’Reilly Thunder Jam presented by the U.S. Air Force, Hardees and SafeAuto at Alabama International Dragway will be bigger and better than ever before.
More is the theme of this year’s event as the organizers of the largest thrill show in America plan on giving the fans more of what they love – raw, unimaginable speed.
“We will have more of everything the fans love,” said Thunder Jam Operations Manager Jim Marchyshyn. “I don’t know that I have ever been this excited for an event. Alabama doesn’t know what we have in store for them.”
Get ready for a record-shattering night when the stars of the O’Reilly Auto Parts Thunder Jam roll into Steele, Ala. for what promises to be an unforgettable night of explosive action and heart-stopping thrills.

Pepe Urban and the X-Treme Machine
In fact, the event has grown so big that organizers were forced to move to a bigger venue this year thus ensuring a bigger and better show for the booming Alabama market.
“After last year’s O’Reilly Thunder Jam set Alabama attendance records we knew we needed a bigger venue just to contain all the action,” Marchyshyn added. “We are going to put on the biggest show Alabama has ever seen so a bigger arena was essential. Plus it gives us more room to blow stuff up.”
It is hard to tell what will survive the chaos when four of the most extreme flame throwing, earth moving jet vehicles on the planet take to the staging lanes.
Headlining one of the most action-packed shows in Thunder Jam history is the breathtaking 20,000 horsepower, flame throwing “X-Treme” Machine jet semi truck of Pepe Urban. Rest assured – this is no ordinary truck.
Hurling 20 foot flames and shaking the earth with ever pass, the “X-Treme” Machine always lives up to its name.
And for fans hungry for a little fire – the April 4th O’Reilly Thunder Jam has more flame wielding machines than ever more.
Along with the “X-Treme” Machine, there will also be a side-by-side battle of the jet trains as “Chattanooga Choo Choo” takes on “Cannonball Express” in one of the fastest battles in drag racing.

Speaking of fast, fans in attendance during the April 4 event will also see two different vehicles attempt world speed records.
Kevin Martin and his jet powered motorcycle will attempt to make history when he tries to set a new Guiness World Record atop his 200+ mile per hour “Screaming Eagle.”
The world’s fastest and quickest diesel powered dragster will also attempt a new record as he tries to topple his own world speed record set at Alabama International Raceway last year.
All this and more can be witnessed for the most family-friendly prices in town.
If you purchase your tickets in advance at participating O’Reilly Auto Parts stores you can take advantage of an amazing deal. Just buy your adult ticket for $20 and get a 12-and-under kid’s ticket for free. Fans can also pick up a $5 adult discount coupon at participating Hardee’s restaurant locations. And, as always, parking and all-access pit passes are free.
“We emphasize affordable family entertainment and value with Thunder Jam,” Marchyshyn said. “We know our fans work hard for their money and we strive to provide them with a great show at an unbeatable price.”
