  SUMMIT SUPERSERIES
Summit Racing Equipment, the Official Mail Order Company of IHRA, sponsors a revolutionary three part series for the IHRA ET bracket racer at the local level.  Providing the base for the Summit SuperSeries are the more than 80 IHRA member tracks.

1) SUMMIT SUPERSERIES WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP
In 2009, the Summit SuperSeries is back with the same format that caught the attention of all IHRA member track competitors in 2008. Each participating track’s champion will race champions from other tracks to determine the “Elite 8” field of Box and No Box finalists for the World Championship race.
Each track champion will square off at the Summit Team Finals in their respective division. The champion of the race will earn their way into the eight-car field of finalists that will again race for the Summit World Championship during the IHRA World Finals in Rockingham, North Carolina on October 22-25, 2009. The World Championship race will be held during Sunday’s final professional eliminations, will be filmed by Speed Channel and seen when the IHRA World Finals airs on Speed in the fall.
There have also been provisions made for divisions that run the Summit Team Finals after the World Finals is over, and for tracks that are geographically unable to attend a team final to ensure that no one is excluded from the program. This program will crown a true World Champion from the ranks of the local grassroots racers at the more than 80 IHRA member tracks

All qualified entries will receive $1,000.00 tow money from Summit. All entries must tech in at event to receive tow money.  The race for the Summit World Championship will be run on a ¼ mile format.  The “Elite 8” will be run on a ladder, where the division 1 champion runs division 9 champion, division 2 East champion runs division 2 West champion, division 3 champion runs division 5 champion and division 4 champion runs the lotto winner.  If a bike or sled qualifies, they will run against cars.  SUMMIT TEAM FINALS
The purpose of the IHRA Summit Team Finals is to promote IHRA Drag Racing at member tracks on a local level and reward attendance with national recognition and competition.  Each participating track will keep a points system to determine the drivers who will represent their track.  Each racer must be entered in their home tracks points program.  The top five (5) point’s finishers in 2008 IHRA or NHRA World Championship standings are not eligible.  Each Team Championship will be determined by a points system with one (1) point being awarded to the winner of each round.
Competitors also claim individual class championships, prizes and monies by racing against their peers in their perspective classes.  Racers will eliminate down until a Summit Team Finals Champion is determined.  Winners receive an IHRA Ironman, Silver Card and monetary prizes.

 SUMMIT CONTINGENCY PROGRAM
This program, valued at more than $5,000,000 rewards local sportsman competitors on a weekly basis at participating tracks at no cost to the track or racer.   The IHRA Contingency Program is an incentive based sales tool used by sponsors to expose their ‘brand’ to thousands of fans and competitors, and by rewarding the racers for running their products and decals, they give thousand of consumers an additional reason to purchase your service or merchandise.  By participating in the Summit SuperSeries, winners and runner-ups of sportsman classes are paid twice a year for contingency by their local track.  Besides running the product, the competitors are also required to run the sponsor’s decals on both sides of the vehicle.

DRAG REVIEW IRONMAN CLASSIC

For the sixth year, IHRA will offer the sportsman program called the” Drag Review Ironman Classic.”  Before, a sportsman racer could only win an Ironman if they traveled to a divisional or national event.  Now weekly racers have an opportunity to receive the most sought after prize in IHRA Drag Racing - the “Ironman.”    The purpose of this Ironman Classic race is simple; the local track can create some excitement in their bracket program and offer sportsman competitors a chance to win an IHRA Ironman.

 TEEN CHAMPIONSHIP RACING
Teen Championship Racing (TCR) allows teenagers 13 to 17 years old to compete against each other in street legal cars and trucks. The TCR program is an inexpensive way for families to get involved in drag racing and offers a chance for parents to cultivate a close working relationship with their children.  A Co-Driver will accompany the TCR competitor on all runs to coach the driver and to join in the fun.  TCR participants receive an IHRA Competition License, IHRA Rule Book, a one-year subscription to Drag Review magazine, and medical coverage. All races are conducted over a distance of 1/8th mile with an ET dial-in format. Cars are limited to 11.00 seconds and slower.  TCR drivers may not compete in any other class except Jr. Dragster.

 JUNIOR DRAGSTERS
The Junior Dragster Program is designed to allow youth, as young as 8 and up to 18 the opportunity to race against their peers in near replica models of the models that the pro’s drive.  They compete at a local track level, divisional level as well as at the Summit Team Bracket Finals.  These events are contested on an 1/8 mile format on an ET dial your own format or a pre-set index on a heads up breakout basis.  With three levels of Junior Dragster competition, it makes this class a great starting point for competitors to learn the basic of drag racing while promoting family fun.
