Ed League and Ryan McDonnell to Represent Renegade Division at SSS Run Off

Ed League from Angleton Dragway and Ryan McDonnell from San Antonio Raceway both clinched the bragging rights of winning the Summit SuperSeries run off at the Renegades Team Finals and will head to Rockingham Dragway to compete for the World Championship.  League running in the Box Class won in the final round when Gary Faulkner had a -.0054 light. McDonnell won the No Box Class when Wayne Morgan of Ben Bruce Memorial Park had a -.0019 light.

 

League and McDonnell will attend the IHRA Nitro Jam World Finals in Rockingham North Carolina October 17-19. League will go up against Ron Bowerman from Alaska Raceway Park in round one of competition and McDonnell will go head to head with Jean Carlos Ras from Aruba International.

 

Racers who finish first in their track's Summit SuperSeries points compete against other track’s point leaders at the Summit Team Finals in their division. The winner of each division’s run-off event competes for the World Championship at the World Finals, October 17-19, at Rockingham Dragway. The winner of the Box and No Box categories will receive $10,000 from Summit Racing Equipment. The runners-up in each class will win $7,000, semifinalists get $2,000 and quarterfinalists receive $1,000. Every entrant will receive $1,000 tow money when they tech in at the event.

The No Box winner will also receive a 28’ Vintage Intimidator Trailer, Custom Davis Golf Cart, Aruba vacation, banquet recognition, Diamond Championship ring, and Ironman. The Box winner will also receive a turn-key Mullis Race Car dragster, Aruba vacation, banquet recognition, Diamond Championship ring, and Ironman. Racers who finish first at their local track will also receive $1,000. Other prizes will also be available.
