Team spirit and family fun was the underlying theme at Maryland International Raceway this past weekend for the all Junior Dragster Team Finals where 16 IHRA and NHRA teams were in attendance. Scattered showers on Saturday morning didn’t damper the spirits or the junior competitors or families for the index classes and bonus races.

“The ‘mom’s in junior dragsters’ and ‘dad’s in pit bikes’ race has always been a big hit and the parents look forward to blowing off a little steam in their own race. These races get bigger every year.” Royce Miller from Maryland International says. “We also have a big wheels race for ten and younger kids who are not in regular competition. The intensity of the tykes is amazing.”    

“Going to a team finals format has really added a lot to the junior program. My kids are having a blast,” stated Mike Anderson from Sumerduck Dragway.
