Titillating time in T-town

The voice of Street Warriorz, Scott Heaton, got a great taste of Tulsa this year after missing last years show.  Here's what he had to say:

The grand stands were full and the party in the Torco Race Fuel Pit was hopping.  The amount of show cars is phenomenal.  The killer iron in the show is incredible.  I’m still pissed at my parents for being poor.

The U.S. Air Force King of the Street program kicked off with a quick 16.  After the one and only time trial was in the books, another 20 cars and drivers wanted in.  Too late.  Ya gotta be ready, or your out.  In the quick 16, we had a very diverse field.  Acura’s, Nissan pickups, a Ford Fairlane, a Viper, and a Honda CRX, plus some traditional race cars, Camaros and Mustangs along with Buick Grand National and a Chevy Nova.  The first round of eliminations is going to be off the hook.  Everyone is running pretty close time wise, and with the added pressure of a win it to stay in it program, it is going to be one hell of an elimination round.

In the first round of eliminations, it was all Viper.  The Dodge Viper laid down a pass in the mid 11 second range.  The rest of the field is going to need to pick up the pace or hope for a foul on the start line to knock the Viper out of the running for the AirForce King of the Street title.  The Nissan Titan pickup and the Mopar pickup have advanced.  Did not expect that, although, the Dodge won due to a red light.  The Nissan out ran a new Ford Mustang.

Round number 2 of eliminations is heating up.  The Viper barely moved on.  It looked as if he started in 2nd gear and did not leave the line very well.  In the end it did not matter, as the Mopar horsepower propelled him to the win.  In the semi final, the cars that have moved on are all cars that could be the eventual winner of the KOTS.

The main stage has not seen this amount of activity this year.  The fans and racers are ready to party and by the amount of empties littering the ground after each stage show, should speak volumes of the amount of fun had by all!!

Valvoline brought out the mobile dyno, and the thing was packed all night long.  At one point the beautiful Torco Race Fuel Ladies made their way over to the Valvoline booth for photo opportunities and the free grab bags of Eagle One product.  Street Warriorz is the best street program going.  With all of the fun, games and activities, and the money that is out there to win, in the burn outs and KOTS, nothing can touch it!!!

KOTS semi and main event are coming up.  Two Mustangs, a Viper and a Honda Civic.  Who will be King?  My money is on the Viper, but the pressure may get to him.  If he can withstand the pressure, he should be able to wrap up a win, collect the cash and the 5 foot tall trophy plus tickets to Nitro Jam and Thunder Jam.  Both huge events are coming here to the Tulsa Raceway Park.  Check out IHRA.com or tulsaracewaypark.com for more info and ticket prices.  All I can say is, with Street Warriorz, Thunder Jam and Nitro Jam, the raceway is going to be the place to be all summer long!!

In the semi final the Mustangs faced off with the 5.0 getting the win over the Cobra, and the Viper ate up the Honda.  In the Final the Viper came out on top over the 5.0 after the Ford red lighted.  Damn.  I had money on the Ford.
