April 18-20 Tulsa Summit Pro-Am Tour Preview

Event: 2008 Summit Racing Equipment Pro-Am Tour presented by Mr. Gasket Renegades double race weekend event

Where: Tulsa Raceway Park

When: April 18-20

2007 Event Winners: Top Sportsman- Russell Marr and Tom Donovan , Top Dragster- Jimmy Wenger and Jimmy Lewis, Super Stock- Slate Cummings and Kevin Helms, Stock- Gary Emmons and Nick Folk, Quick Rod- Joe Collier and Daryl Hamlin Jr., Super Rod- Brian Folk and Michael Hunt, Hot Rod- Jeremy Wilson and Alan Savage.

Defending Division Champions: Top Sportsman- Chris Gulitti (Spring, Texas), Top Dragster- Jimmy Lewis (Forney, Texas), Super Stock- Tony Cowell (Weatherford, Texas), Stock- Nick Folk (Durand, Illinois), Quick Rod- Tommy Phillips (Forney, Texas), Super Rod- Michael Hunt (El Paso, Texas), Hot Rod- Kenny Underwood (Tampa, Florida).

What to expect: The second stop of the Division 4 Renegades Summit Pro Am Tour presented by Mr. Gasket will be at Tulsa Raceway Park, home of the Skull Shine Sooner Nationals. The gates will open up at noon on Friday with a test n tune scheduled for Pro Am racers only beginning at 6 pm until 11 pm. IHRA tech will open at 3 pm and close at 9 pm for early arriving participates. Saturday the gates will open at 7 am with 2 time trial/ qualifying sessions beginning at 9 am with eliminations immediately following 2nd session. Sunday gates open at 8 am with 1 time trial/qualifying session at 9 am and go immediately into eliminations.

Special Programs:

Moser Engineering Axle Mania—To be eligible a racer must run a set of Moser axles and have the proper Moser Engineering decals and complete the registration form. All IHRA sportsman racers who meet the eligibility requirements will have the opportunity to qualify for a $51,000 purse, including a top prize of $22,500. The seventh edition of Moser Axle Mania will be run at the Torco Northern Nationals at Knoll Gas Motorsports Park in August of 2008.

American Race Cars Free Ride—At each 2008 Summit Pro-Am a random driver will be selected from the tech cards at that event. If the Pro-Am is a double two drivers will be selected. The American Race Cars Free Ride winner will be pulled at random from those tech cards at the 2008 IHRA Summit Pro-Am Banquet. Two tech cards will be pulled, the first winning a Silver Card good for a free car and driver entry at each of that driver’s 2009 in-division Divisional races. The second card pulled will determine the winner of a $10,000 gift certificate good towards the purchase of a new American Race Car.

2008 Renegades Division Summit Pro-Am Schedule (all events are double race weekends): March 14-16 at San Antonio Raceway; April 18-20 at Tulsa Raceway Park; May 2-4 at State Capitol; June 20-22 at Pine Valley Raceway Park.
