Mark Horton and Travis Colangelo of American Race Cars have picked up the “Free Ride” program for 2008 and beyond. American began making a name for itself a couple a years ago, now many of today’s champions drive them including 2007 Top Dragster World Champion Jeff Brown.

“We are very proud to be a part of the IHRA and the 'Free Ride' program offers us a way to give back to the racers,” Horton said.

“We get to help an actual racer into one of our cars. We couldn’t ask for anything better,” added Colangelo.

The winner of the “American Race Cars Free Ride” program will receive a $10,000 gift certificate good toward the purchase of a new car. At each Summit Pro-Am in 2009 a random driver will be selected from the tech cards at that event. If the Pro-Am is a double, 2 drivers will be selected. The “American Free Ride” winner will be pulled from those drivers at the 2009 IHRA Summit Pro-Am Banquet. There will be 2 drivers drawn. The 1st will receive a Silver card and the 2nd the $10,000 American gift certificate.
