It didn’t take long for the word to spread.  The date was set for the Kumho Street Warriorz series to roll through Pittsburgh Raceway Park, and Pennsylvania responded.  The event drew record numbers for a first time event and showed the North-East how to party once the weather turns for the better.

If you can only throw one party in Pennsylvania, it’s got to be in Pittsburgh, and if you are racing in Pittsburgh, you have got to be at Pittsburgh Raceway Park.   The legendary track was slammed with the hottest street machines from both sides of the turnpike and provided the perfect blend of opportunity for the participants.


Universal Technical Institute has been part of the underground of drag racing and street tuning since the beginning.  A group of UTI representatives were on hand displaying some of the coolest student built rides to come out of the programs.  The dropped t-bucket and race-ready Cobra weren’t the center of attention though, it was the Spark plug changing competition and the Portatree reaction timing competition that kept the crowds pleased.

With one of the hardest tire-shredding burnout competitions the season has seen, the fans got more than a whiff of the sweet smell of burning VHT and tire rubber.  On the stage, the Street Warriorz ladies turned out one of the most competitive bikini contests of the year, with a clear winner only after breaking the ladies down one after another.

The United States Auto Sound Competition Car show had the midway flowing with a constant barrage of show vehicles throughout the night.  The space at this track let the competitors really stretch out and let them even travel to and from the midway around judging to hit the track.
