Tulsa Turns Out

In one of the most successful first-year shows in the history of the series, Tulsa Raceway Park was turned out August 4th with one of the hottest Street Warriorz events across the country.

“We all knew there was a huge opportunity to break this area open, we just didn’t know we would hit it so hard in the first year,” Jon O’Neal, event direct or said.  “I’m in awe every time I see the waves of cars roll through the gates, but to see such an amazing turnout in a first year venture really shows the strength this market could have in the future.”

By drawing the street racers, car show and audio enthusiasts together, it’s become easy to see that this demographic isn’t looking for foam pits, laser shows and flashy hooks.  Street Warriorz was created to give the hardcore car culture a chance to express their passions without boundary.

Building off one of the most hardcore “Midnight Drags” programs in the country, the Kumho Street Warriorz series took over Tulsa Raceway Park Saturday August 4th to create the premier street racing and lifestyle event of the year.

With the response promoters have received about this show, it proves to be one of the hottest markets on the series for the United States Auto Sound Competition judged car show and Outlaw SPL stereo competition in the country.

“It’s just the way down here, it’s a true car culture,” Stanley D. said.  “We really run the gamut from classis muscle to bagged imports.  It’s wide open as far as selection, but the passion is all the same.  It’s just good to see someone coming around to embrace it.”

The Kumho Street Warriorz series is the most hardcore street racing series in the nation.  The parties are based around fans as participants in the event as opposed to spectators.  Non-elimination grudge racing gives the opportunity for anyone in the venue to street race their street-legal cars without tickets or cops.

United States Auto Sound Competition has been involved with the series from its inception in 2005 and is the draw for the show car scene, involving some of the most respected clubs in the country and involves local organizations in up-to 29 category shows with trophies for the top three in each.  The Outlaw SPL portion of the show is one of the most explosive new creations in the show circuit.  This car stereo competition is the basis of all bragging rights in car audio and proves the hardcore reputation as the organization that’s “breaking glass and taking names.”

The party will take over 18 cities in the 2007 season including non-traditional venues such as Burke Lakefront Airport during the Grand Prix of Cleveland and pit road at Atlanta Motor Speedway.  With live DJ’s, sponsor midway, burnout contests, and stage shows including the Kumho Barely Legal Bikini Contest all added into the mix, the underground of car culture has finally been given a venue for hardcore competition.
