under power at the finish line today, either, but both made it almost to half track before trouble set in. Paton lost power just
before half track, Lagana just past. However, both managed to get into the field, putting Bruce Litton on the bump spot at 10.032
and Edmonton winner Terry McMillen on the outside of the field.

It looked like McMillen pushed out a head gasket about 400 feet down the track and the header flames went out around the
1,000-foot marker, but McMillen got back in the field, putting Litton on the outside and Grant Flowers on the bump spot at
8.718.

Litton lost traction early, pedaled, and squeaked into the field on the bump spot. Cavalieri appeared to be on a good run, but
started smoking the tires just before half track, then pushed out a head gasket and coasted across the line. That bumped Flowers,
who was not in line for this session.

Litton will race tomorrow. McMillen made a nice run, but had to lift early to avoid the centerline, killing his speed, but he was
still quick enough to move into the top half of the field.
