Palm Beach International Raceway would like to welcome
renowned drag racer, Nelson Hoyos, as their new Director of Drag Racing
Operations. Hoyos will oversee the development of drag racing programs, events
and racer relations at PBIR. The track is also pleased to announce it has hired
Alan Miller, as Drag Racing Events Consultant to assist Hoyos in these
responsibilities during major drag race events and with building relations with
the grass roots racers.
Hoyos has been involved in the development, racing and
business aspects of motorsports for over thirty years. As a former drag racer
and the owner and operator of Driven2Win Drag Racing School, Hoyos brings
extensive experience in drag racing to his new title at Palm Beach
International Raceway. As a two-time NHRA PRO-FWD Champion and Bonneville
veteran, Hoyos is widely recognized and well respected in the drag racing
community.
Once named, Turbo Magazine’s “Driver of the Year”, Hoyos has
worked in leading high profile multi-million dollar race teams and marketing
programs for the U.S. Navy, Ford and Chevrolet Racing Divisions.
Hoyos also founded and currently operates Driven2Win Drag
Racing School and Driving Experience. The program provides corporate
entertainment, team building, instructional racing and ride and drive programs
in professional prepared race cars. As the official drag racing school of Palm
Beach International Raceway since 2010, Hoyos has become very familiar with the
track, their staff and the race fans. Hoyos’ wife, Marla, will take over the
day to day management of Driven2Win as Nelson joins the PBIR team full time
April 1st.
Alan Miller is an experienced drag strip operator with over
30 years in the industry. Miller was formerly a track General Manager working
for NHRA at their company owned tracks, has worked with Pullin Television/SPEED
as Track Technical Consultant for ‘Pinks All Out’. He
has worked as a track consultant for many drag strips across
the country, including Famosa Dragway in Bakersfield, CA and PBIR the past
three years.
“We are excited to welcome Nelson and Alan to our team at
PBIR,” said Jason Rittenberry, President & CEO at Palm Beach International
Raceway. “With Nelson’s experience as a racer and Alan’s ability to relate to
our racers on a grassroots level this was the best choice to lead the
rebuilding of our drag strip operations. Alan will be a big help to Nelson
during this transition.”
