In the summer of 1999 London Dragway opened to the fanfare of racers throughout the Bluegrass State.

Nestled in the hills of southern Kentucky on the edge of the Daniel Boone National Forest, London Dragway was immediately heralded as one of the nicest drag racing facilities in the state of Kentucky. Drawing racers throughout the area, London has continued to prosper over the past decade culminating with the prestige of hosting its first IHRA Summit Racing Equipment Pro-Am Tour presented by AMSOIL race in May of 2011.

And now, on the eve of hosting its second-ever IHRA divisional event the weekend of September 7-9, London Dragway and owner Craig Boone are looking forward to showcasing the many improvements made to the facility over the past year as the North Stars look to wrap up their season at the Division 3 finale hosted by the Kentucky track.

Among the many improvements made to the facility since the Summit Pro-Am Tour made its debut their last year is an upgraded timing system, new scoreboards, an extended shutdown area, a new return road with an all-new ET shack and additional blacktop for racer parking. The improvements enhance what is already one of the nicest facilities in the area and are designed to make the facility even more racer friendly ahead of the big event.

“We are excited as always to showcase our facility to IHRA racers,” Boone said. “We love getting the new racers out to our track and we look forward to hosting another great race in September. I am certainly looking forward to it and I hope the racers enjoy the improvements we have made for them.”

With the facility continually expanding to meet the needs of the Pro-Am racers, Division 3 Director Jon O’Neal admits he is very excited about the potential the track exhibits.

“They have done a lot to enhance the racer experience including adding more parking for the Pro-Am racers in addition to upgrading the timing system and other components around the facility,” O’Neal said. “London has a lot of potential to grow into a staple in the division with a racer friendly facility and a welcoming staff. We certainly look forward to our return their in September.”

The North Stars division will wrap up their season at London Dragway September 7-9 with a double points meet scheduled for Saturday and Sunday. For more information on the event click on the link below.
