Despite a valiant attempt by the Maryland International Raceway and IHRA crews to dry the track and get the race in, the Summit Racing Equipment Pro-Am Tour presented by AMSOIL Division 1 season finale has been washed out.

Drenching rains, storms that produced nearby tornados and even a lighting strike to the tower all combined to create a perfect storm that wouldn’t allow the hundreds of racers on hand for the Patriots season finale to get on track despite multiple attempts at drying the track.

“I really have to commend Royce Miller and the staff at Maryland International Raceway for all of their hard work in trying to get this race in and putting on a great event for these racers,” said Jon O’Neal, Division Director. “We tried and tried to get the track ready, but Mother Nature simply wouldn’t cooperate. I really hate it for the racers and for MIR.”

Full details on the next course of action will be announced on IHRA.com as soon as those details become available.
