What to expect
: Mountain Park Dragway has long been host to Summit Pro-Am weekends jam-packed with bonus racing, show elements and Independence Day celebrations and the 2012 schedule is sticking with that tradition. Along with all of the IHRA Summit Racing Equipment Pro-Am Tour presented by AMSOIL sportsman racing, the staff at Mt. Park Dragway will be offering big bucks bracket racing action, an Outlaw Powerseries Quick 8’s runoff race and have a Jet dragster and fireworks in store.
Saturday’s time trials and qualifying will start slightly later than it has historically to give Pro-Am racers the opportunity to run a portion of the event in front of the fans. For those arriving Friday, a bonus ET race will be held in the evening and will include a round of Powerseries qualifying as well.
The staff at Mt. Park have always been accustomed to providing extra racing and excitement for the families that choose to come out to the familiar track. It’s been said that everyone feels like they are coming home when they pull in the gate. After trying different weekends in previous years to work in the Summit Pro-Am, its return to early July provides the easy excuse to pack the weekend with excitement once again like only the staff at Mountain Park Dragway can.
