Two chances to qualify for Tournament of Champions coming up this weekend

Racers looking for the perfect opportunity to qualify for the Summit Racing Equipment Tournament of Champions presented by AMSOIL are in luck this weekend.
The first weekend in May will feature two huge events in Louisiana and Virginia with a chance to qualify for the TOC at both. Racers that qualify for the tournament will automatically be eligible for the final race of the year at Memphis International Raceway to race for the national championship and over $10,000 in winnings.
First up is the Mardi Gras Nitro Jam presented by Domino’s Pizza May 4-6 at State Capitol Raceway which will feature multiple professional and sportsman classes spread over the three-day weekend. The event will include a double Summit Racing Equipment Pro-Am Tour presented by AMSOIL weekend May 5-6 in Division 4 with competition in Top Sportsman, Top Dragster, Super Stock, Stock, Quick Rod, Super Rod and Hot Rod. Pro-Am points will be awarded both days and winners during Saturday’s Nitro Jam portion of the weekend will earn a spot in the year-end Tournament of Champions. Also in competition in Baton Rouge will be Top ET, Mod ET and three classes of Junior Dragster.
Next on the agenda is the IHRA Summit Racing Equipment Pro-Am Tour presented by AMSOIL Divison 1 season opener at Richmond Dragway May 4-6. The event will feature a double Pro-Am points claim with a test and tune on Friday, qualifying and race one of the weekend on Saturday and a second day of qualifying and racing on Sunday. Sunday’s event winners will also gain entry into the Tournament of Champions in addition to receiving increased contingency postings.
