Goforth and team claimed the No. 1 qualifier and raced past Brad Waddle, John Pluchino and Trevor A season championship came down to one race, which came down to one round to determine the 2016 IHRA Pro Stock World Championship. Drama? Yes. Pressure? No doubt. Great for the fans? Absolutely. Before the season began, Cary Goforth was not planning to compete in 2016. With the oil business not exactly turning on win lights for the industry lately, Goforth had decided to skip the 2016 season when the Bailko family called. Kevin Bialko was not driving in 2016 - the team needed someone to pilot the family car. “I wouldn’t drive for anybody else – that’s how good a family the Bialkos have,” Goforth said when looking back on the season. “I’m very humbled, blessed, privileged and honored that they called us and had enough confidence in me to put me in their car.” So in March, it was off to the season’s first race in Orlando to begin the journey through an abbreviated 2016 IHRA Drag Racing season.
