HOUSE SPRINGS, MO — It’s the biggest racing weekend of the year and the International Hot Rod Association is gearing up for it to be spectacular.

That’s because there are two IHRA Sportsman Spectacular presented by Moser Engineering events on Saturday. Races are to be held at Music City Raceway in suburban Nashville and Dragway 42 in West Salem, Ohio. While there are iconic events like the Indianapolis 500, NASCAR’s Coca-Cola 600 and the Formula One Monaco Grand Prix held this wekeend, drag racers can look to IHRA Summit SuperSeries races and other big events at their local tracks.

XENIA, OH — The IHRA Sportsman Spectacular presented by Moser Engineering at Kil-Kare Raceway featured great car counts and fun celebrations for over a half-dozen racers.

Joe Hoskins in Super Pro (Box), Walt Shade Jr. in Pro (No Box), Cameron Groff in Sportsman, Andrew England in Motorcycle and Tyler Cromer in Junior Dragster all took home the big checks, prestigious IHRA Ironman trophies and the specially-designed commemorative medals for their victories. Two others won Junior Dragster main events.

HOUSE SPRINGS, MO — There was a ton of enthusiasm when the International Hot Rod Association announced plans to bring back class racing with the IHRA Hot Rod Classic in 2023.

It carried over to a solid debut at Xtreme Raceway Park which it was truly a blast from the past. That enthusiasm shown in the months prior to the opening event hasn’t translated into the racers’ support of the other scheduled events with low entries, leading to today’s tough decision to cancel the rest of the 2024 season.

HOUSE SPRINGS, MO — Make sure you beat the deadline and join the International Hot Rod Association before the required date for membership on July 1 to compete in the IHRA Summit SuperSeries World Finals presented by Strange Engineering.

IHRA-member racers can qualify for the IHRA Summit SuperSeries World Finals presented by Strange Engineering in three ways. One way is to win the IHRA Summit SuperSeries championship at their home track. Another way is to win an individual title at one of the IHRA Summit Team Finals.

KINGSPORT, TN — The International Hot Rod Association (IHRA) has enlisted Contingency Connection, a 30-year sponsorship pioneer in the performance industry, to provide added awards at the IHRA Summit Team Finals, the IHRA Summit SuperSeries World Finals presented by Strange Engineering and other selected events.

Winning racers in selected classes at these events will receive the coveted Racer Rewards Book featuring over $4,000 in valuable product discounts from top performance manufactures.

GOODLETTSVILLE, TN — The exciting motor-revving, tire-squealing, action of the International Hot Rod Association (IHRA) Sportsman Spectacular presented by Moser Engineering comes to Music City Raceway in less than two weeks, Saturday, May 25.

These events continue to bring out big crowds as racers in Super Pro (Box), Pro (No Box), Sportsman, Pro Bike (Motorcycle) and Junior Dragster classes have the chance to compete for prestigious IHRA Ironman trophies and the very popular oversized championship checks. They will also be in the running for limited-edition Sportsman Spectacular commemorative medals.

GLEASON, TN — It’s time to celebrate at Gleason Raceway Park with Saturday’s IHRA Sportsman Spectacular presented by Moser Engineering bringing in the largest car count since the Northup family took over the Tennessee track in 2021.

Veteran racers at Gleason said it was the biggest turnout they could remember in the last decade.

HOUSE SPRINGS, MO — The Lone Star State is home to many of the top Junior Dragster racers in America.

Makenzie Roberts, a 13-year-old from Forney, Texas, is the latest racer to be spotlighted by the International Hot Rod Association. She has been racing for four years and finished runner-up at the 2022 the IHRA Division 4 Summit Team Finals.

BONNE TERRE, MO — There were specific winners on the race track, but it was truly a case of everyone being a winner when IHRA-member track Bonne Terre Drag Strip hosted the ninth annual “Autos 4 Autism” drag race on April 20.

It is described as a drag racing event which increases funding to help individuals with autism learn vocational and social skills through Visions of Hope Training Program. Tonya Johnson, Board President for Hope 4 Autism, explained the Bonne Terre races have become the biggest fundraiser of the year for the program.

LODI, CA — The word trifecta fits IHRA drag racing as well as horse racing with the addition of Kingdon Drags to the IHRA family of tracks.

The facility less than 15 miles outside Stockton is third IHRA member track signed in the last three weeks joining Eagle Field Runway Drags and Mendota Raceway Park.
